It appears only the main contact and secondary contact can access the client portal. Sometimes a company will want more than two users to upload documents, and most of the time it won't be the main contact doing the uploading. It would therefore b...
This is one of the biggest difficulties we have with BrightManager, only 2 contacts is just not enough and dilutes the usefulness of the portal/client contacts.
Hi Mike,
Thank you for your comment.
Without having multiple contacts available on BM, an improved Documents Manager/Clients Portal will be of little to no use to some practices. There are also different types of contacts to consider:
company members (directors, company secretary, shareholders, PSCs) needed for Co House compliance checks, CS01s, company registers maintenance, etc.
company operational contacts (accountants/bookkeepers/admin staff, etc.) needed to share/access accounting/bookkeeping data or to exchange compliance data (PAs, secretaries dealing with collecting info on behalf of members...)
I appreciate the difficult issue of having different types of contacts that can be shared across a plethora of Bright software products.
Maybe an idea could be to have a central BrightContacts database, with different categories of contacts, that you can then map across all your different products via API?
In BM, it would be useful to have both types of contacts available. Not everyone will use Inform Direct but will still like/need to have company members info/details available.
Please feel free to reach out if you need users' additional input.
Many thanks,
David M
Thanks for all the valuable insights. Allowing multiple contacts on a Client File is definitely something we’re giving serious consideration, especially as mentioned given the growing importance of ID Verification and flexible portal access.
We recognise how much this enhancement could benefit many users by making client management smoother and more efficient. It’s an important feature we’re eager to explore further. At the same time, implementing this involves several complexities that require careful planning to address properly. While this won’t be an immediate change, please be assured it’s on our radar.
We truly appreciate your feedback and patience as we work towards delivering a solution that meets everyone’s needs. We’ll keep you updated as progress continues.
Hi Bright,
With ID Verification there is now an even stronger case for adding more contacts to each client. if 4 directors need verifying then they will all need to be listed even if we don't act for them all. If we don't act for them we would rather not be setting up a self assessment client where we don't need one..
