It would be nice to view or have access to the client portal in order to assist them.

Nice to see a bit of activity on the Ideas Portal! :-) I hope all those things you are currently looking into come to fruition soon!
About the Clients Portal, a practice should be able to add/remove any staff members or clients' users, and input viewing/editing user restrictions. I would go as far as setting up the portal on their behalf and all they have to do is register to the portal by setting up their access credentials. Then we can guide them by phone, Teams, etc. on how to use it.

Yes!! Or to have a demo portal so we could record a video to show all clients without giving away personal details. The current workaround is to have my own personal version of the portal, but far from ideal or professional
