Client ID expiry reminder

Keeping track of clients ID expiries would b very useful to ensure compliance with AML regulations. I have been able to set up a new field on the clients file to allow me to put the date in but it doesn't covert to a task so there are no reminders for it unless I manually set up a task each time.
