I have been linking documents to tasks but it almost feels pointless to do so at present. When I review my tasks page i have to revert back to the client page then documents to see related task documents. If when i select a task it shows the documents linked as well as the email this would be helpful. As the email itself also doesn't show any attachments
Hi there,
I agree with this idea. It would be useful to view a list of all documents attached to a task, to preview them, to delete/add/edit them if possible too. In addition, any document attached to a task should be available for selection to email or upload to the Document Manager. Furthermore, if a document is attached to a system generated service task, users should have the option to tell the system if the attachment needs to be included in the automated email or not, without forgetting flexibility so even if the system defaults to attaching documents or not to such tasks, users can then edit/remove/add documents still.
One example where this could potentially be useful is when sending data requests emails. Having the ability to add a checklist document that clients can refer to, go through and tick/check so they send you the most complete data set possible. Obviously, there is the remaining human element of messy clients or contacts, that no system will ever be able to manage but this would limit emails exchange chasing missing data for the willing ones who either need guidance or only need to learn how to apply themselves a little more. ;-)
Another example could be self-assessments questionnaires in case users don't upload custom forms in the Document Manager in case they don't use it.
I am sure there are other examples other users could come up with.
Further down the line, if a 'task timeline' tab were to be added to the task widget, with the ability to filter 'Just emails', 'Just Documents' and 'Just Time entries', you would find yourself using an even more top notch task/project management tool. All the most relevant information users and managers need in just one place. :-D
Many thanks,
