I suffer from task overwhelm and despite the recent introduction of workflow, feel the tasks screen can be further improved instead of constantly filtering the tasks list, to see quickly what I need to do for the day.
And so it would be great to have a 'worktray' option added to the Task list menu. That only shows a simple clean list of tasks as a single line for each task showing client name, title of task, deadline and or target date. No more future lists showing pages of upcoming tasks.
Each task can be tagged from the main task list, and allocated a specific day to work on it (with an additional date option added to the target and deadline options, so as to assign a date the work will be started or done on)
If the worktray can then be set to show a ranked list of work assigned for that day, which can then be moved up or down the list by dragging and dropping the tasks, to show priority/ order of jobs to be done.
And for any tasks that are not actioned/processed that day, are automatically moved to the next working days worktray list.
I used to use Trello to manage our projects/client work and was able to rank the order the jobs were to be done in as well as reschedule them by dragging them to a new daily list, or delegating to other staff. It would be great to see AM have a similar easy interface that shows a clean list of work to be done for the day and that each line/job can be expanded to show additional recording options/workflow, when clicked on - just like the main task screen.
If its not possible to build a worktray view within AM, could a API be developed to push tasks into Trello? currently only a simple API is in place limiting the functionality of managing tasks. if a a two way API can be developed that can allow updates recorded in Trello to update AM tasks, that would be amazing.
I think the filtering options of tasks could be improved further. At the moment, you can create web browser favourites to save a set of specific tasks. This could perhaps help with your 'task overwhelm' issue. But it would be better to have a highly configurable tasks manager within AM, where you could save lists and go from one to the other quickly. I would like to have a tasks filter/manager/configurator which would allow to include or exclude several types of services, where you could mass update your selection of tasks (to change the deadline date for instance or to re-allocate to staff quickly)
