A Report Builder that Works

To mis-quote the Beastie Boys...
What I'd like is a report builder that I can use, that just works. Now wouldn't that be great?!

Here's what I mean...

You go to client list, and...

Start building a report, but a column's in the wrong place - amend the report? NO back to the beginning for you!

Want to report something, but is that a column add, or a yes/no? Got it wrong Haha! Back to the start again for you, again.

Want to build a report based on another report based on a tax year? Yep, no copy, paste, edit report, back to the start form you.

Want to find SA800s and SA100s? No, you can't do that, because SA800s operate on a different thing from SA100s, but hey, let's also have two columns called "SA Tax Year" because that's easy to understand.

In like, 1979, we had this thing that could query a database, salled SQL. Other qury tools and languages also exist...

You could build queries, on top of one another, using logic, and/or/not/join statements.

The current reporting is broken and rubbish. Please provide a proper industry standard querying and report building tool to review OUR data!

Just me? Ok, I've only been asking for this since Accountancy Manager's early days. But please, yes, let's have another button that looks pretty and does nothing.
